SIMS Upgrade 7.206

Please be aware that from Monday 4th July 2022 we will be upgrading all SIMS systems to the latest version (7.206).

This upgrade needs to be done for the pupil census in October, workforce census in November and contains the below updates/fixes.

 Pupil Personal Pronouns

New functionality has been provided in SIMS, enabling the setup and maintenance of personal pronouns. A number of enhancements have been made to various areas in SIMS to incorporate this new functionality.

This functionality is accessible (via Tools | Setups | Pronoun Setup) and can be accessed by School Administrators and System Managers.

Once applied to an individual in SIMS, a suffix of their specified personal pronoun is displayed in bold text at the top of their record.

Personal pronouns are not collected in any statutory returns at present, there is no requirement to report this information to the DfE.
Reports | Attendance | Selected Pupil (or Student) Reports | Subcode Report

Attendance code X is no longer to be used for COVID-19 related absence therefore, the following subcodes have been set to inactive:

X01-Non compulsory school age
X02-Self-isolating – Covid-19 symptoms
X05-Quarantine Self-isolating
X06-Clinical Advice not to attend
X07-Government advice not to attend
X08-Director of Public Health advice not to attend
X09-Self-isolating – specific group required by NHS test and trace.

Please note that subcodes related to code I are still available for use.

 Staff Personal Pronouns

Enhancements to Staff Basic Details Focus | Person | Staff Focus | Person | Manage Classroom Staff

The Gender field has been renamed to Sex in the staff browser and in their Basic Details panel.

Additionally, you can now select the staff member’s chosen personal pronoun from the Pronoun(s) drop-down list.

A suffix of the staff member’s chosen personal pronoun is displayed in bold text at the top of their Personal Details page

If you have any queries or would like to book in a certain day/time for the upgrade to take place then please do not hesitate to email helpdesk@oneitss.org.uk otherwise we will just do the upgrade behind the scenes, out of school hours. We will call schools if we can see anyone still logged on and using SIMS when we start the upgrade.

We do not require you to leave your machines on, as the upgrade will take place on the server. Your machines should automatically upgrade to the newest version however if you do have any issues, please contact us as normal on 01642 635570.
